Site assessment and technical design for aquaculture projects

Before investing in a farm you need to know whether the site is suitable. We assess oceanographic conditions and design the farming system, anchoring, seed production and operations, tailored to each location.

Site assessment

  • Bathymetric surveys and seabed characterization.
  • Temperature, coastal upwelling and water quality.
  • Wave and current exposure.
  • Productive suitability for the target species.

Technical design

  • Suspended (longline) farming systems and their anchoring.
  • Hatchery and seed production: reproductive induction, fixation and pre-deployment development.
  • Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) for inland species such as tilapia.
  • Operating, monitoring and traceability protocols.

Applied experience

Our team combines knowledge of Chile's North-Central coast with experience in salmon farming in southern Chile and international barramundi (Singapore, Australia and Brunei) and tilapia (Kenya and Mexico) operations. That perspective helps us anticipate design and operational issues.

Frequently asked questions

When should a site be assessed?

As early as possible: before applying for a concession or funding. An early assessment avoids costly mistakes in permitting, design or species selection.

Do you work with freshwater species?

Yes. We have experience with RAS systems for tilapia and pre-feasibility studies for emerging species such as barramundi.
